(assistance provision) for disabled people and other low-mobility groups of the population in the Ternopil Ivan Puluj National Technical University

  1. The Order of Assistance (assistance provision) (henceforth – Order) for disabled people and other low-mobility groups of the population (henceforth – Persons who need help) in the Ternopil Ivan Puluj National Technical University (henceforth – University) was developed to meet the requirements of paragraph 2 of the President of Ukraine Decree on the 2nd of December 2017 № 401/2017 “ About introduction of amendments to paragraph 3 “Regulations on a national establishment (institution) of Ukraine”.
  2. The Order specifies the actions of officials to provide conveniences and comfort stay at the University to the Persons who need assistance as well as the creation of conditions for the high-quality services provided by the University staff.
  3. A Person who needs help can call a University employee by a button to call a duty staff or by phone.
  4. Both a button to call a duty staff and the phone number are located near the central entrance of the building and are easily accessible and visible, they are also marked by the proper sign.
  5. After receiving a call signal or a phone message a person on duty meets a Person who needs help to find out the purpose of his/her visit and:
    • if a Person who needs help is a student of the University, a person on duty takes necessary actions to provide access to the building;
    • if a Person who needs help would like to obtain any information regarding the University services, a person on duty informs the head of the subdivision who can share the required data. After that, the head of the subdivision immediately (up to 5 min) comes or provides the arrival of an official who has the necessary information and consults a Person who needs help.
  1. The staff on duty together with the required subdivision staff whom a Person turns to, if necessary, take special actions to transport the Person either with a wheelchair or separately the Person and the wheelchair, or any special apparatuses or equipment used by the Person to the required University subdivision or a room. If possible or when a Person agrees he/she stays in a wheelchair which is located in a safe and convenient place in the building.
  2. When a visit of a Person who needs help is over, the building commandant assists him/her in leaving the University building.
  3. All consultations concerning any directions of movement, the assistance of the Persons who need help to the University premises, and, if necessary, any physical assistance should be provided by the commandants of the educational buildings, dormitories, porters on duty, employees of the security department, as well as by the heads of the departments whom the Persons who need help turn to.
  4. The Order of Assistance is available near the entrance to the educational buildings and dormitories as well as on the official website of the University.
