From March 17 to 21, faculty members from Ternopil Ivan Puluj National Technical University (TNTU) – Sitkar Oksana, PhD in Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Physics; Skorenkyy Yuriy, PhD in Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor, Department of Physics; and Mocharskyi Vitalii, PhD in Technical Sciences, Senior Lecturer, Department of Physics – visited Thomas More University of Applied Sciences in Belgium within the International Days of Erasmus+ program.
During the stay, the faculty members delivered a series of lectures to students on the importance of physics, particularly for students in technical universities, covering the physical foundations of light phenomena, cyber-physical systems, and smart houses. Students and colleagues from other universities highly praised the lectures and expressed interest in developing joint educational programs. The growing global interest in physics and physical research was noted, as the advancement of technology and innovation is intrinsically linked to fundamental sciences. The TNTU representatives also shared firsthand accounts of russia’s military aggression against Ukraine with international colleagues, emphasizing the ongoing need for support for Ukraine and its people.
Colleagues from Thomas More University of Applied Sciences offered guided tours of their research laboratories, providing insights into their scientific focus areas and applied projects.
Additionally, a student hackathon was held during the International Days, where TNTU faculty members served as mentors, jury members, and provided guidance to young innovators.
In meetings with colleagues from other universities, TNTU representatives agreed to expand their partnership network and initiate collaborative scientific and educational projects in the future.
