Ternopil Ivan Puluj National Technical University (Ukraine) and Atlantic Technical University (Ireland) signed a Cooperation Agreement

On June 27, as part of the All-Ukrainian program “Unification Initiative”, Ternopil Ivan Puluj National Technical University (Ukraine) and Atlantic Technical University (Ireland) signed a Cooperation Agreement.
The online meeting was attended by representatives of the TNTU working group: Tetiana Vitenko (Vice-rector for international cooperation), Olena Dudar (Head of the International cooperation office), Viktoriia Zubkova (leading specialist of the International cooperation office), Zhanna Babyak (Head of the Department of Ukrainian and foreign languages).
Atlantic Technical University was represented by: Claire Axel-Berg, International Higher Education Consultant and Associate at Cormack Consultancy Group, England; Louise Kearins, Online Learning Project Manager, Atlantic Technological University, Ireland; Karen Biazzo, meeting secretary of Cormack Consultancy Group.
Atlantic Technological University (ATU) was formed on April 1, 2022 through the merger of 3 colleges. Today, ATU is one of the largest universities on the island (23,000 students), offers a strong mix of academic and research work, has 600 programs, most of which are available online.

3. Science and technology
During the meeting, the concept of Twinning was discussed, aimed at creating a deep and long-term partnership that will contribute to the development of TNTU both in the short and long term.
The partnership will enable key stakeholder groups at both universities to communicate and collaborate together (students, staff, academics) and receive institutional support. During the first 5 years, cooperation within the framework of the Twinning initiative will allow to receive the following preferences:
– access to ATU online courses
– cooperation of student councils of TNTU and ATU
– distance English language courses for students, administrative and teaching staff
– academic partnership in joint research and conferences
– IT infrastructure support
– access to academic libraries (SCONUL, Linda Hall Library)
– Summer/winter schools for students and teachers of TNTU
